The Group

Who We Are

The History of Education Society Popular Culture Affinity Group is a fellowship of scholars with an interest in the intersection of the history of education and popular culture.  It includes, but is certainly not limited to, researchers who are interested in the way that schools and other educational institutions are portrayed in popular media, researchers who are interested in the various ways that popular culture serves as non-formal and informal education, and researchers who are interested in the ways that educational institutions have employed popular culture as part of their curricula. ï»¿

The Goals of the Group

Associated with the History of Education Society, our goal is to provide a supportive community for scholars in the field, sharing opportunities for collaboration, resources for furthering our research, and providing information about potential avenues for presentation or publication of our work.

Words of Welcome
If you are an established scholar in the field or someone who is looking to become newly involved in this sort of research, we welcome you to become involved with the group.
